Samsung acknowledges Galaxy S23 touchscreen issue

Samsung started rolling out the update to One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S23 family in late March, and since getting it, a lot of people have been complaining about touchscreen issues. Namely, the touchscreen on these devices sometimes doesn't register touch input properly, and one has to tap multiple times to get a touch registered. Naturally, this is extremely annoying, and now Samsung has finally acknowledged the problem, but there's a twist. Galaxy S23 Ultra unresponsive display issue

Some Samsung Galaxy S23 users have been facing issues with their phone ever since Samsung released its new update last week. The One UI 6.1 update came to the newer Samsung Galaxy S24 models earlier this year seemingly without a hitch. Yet, once this AI-filled update was rolled out to the older devices on March 28, users began experiencing issues where the touchscreen display was being unresponsive. Samsung has now responded to the issue, providing context on the cause of the problem. The company has also issued a temporary fix for the touchscreen issue and will soon roll out an update addressing it.

Samsung Releases New Feature Boost

After promising to bring One UI 6.1 to more devices, Samsung is now rolling out the update to older Galaxy phones. Bringing with it formerly S24 exclusive Galaxy AI features to all of Samsung’s 2021 and 2022 flagships. Spotted by Taurn Vats on Twitter/X and SamMobile, the rollout has already begun in Korea and it will likely hit other territories shortly, with India expected to be next on the list according to Vats. The update will make its way to the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The Galaxy S22 range, Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 are getting almost all of Samsung’s current roster of AI features. This includes Live Translate, Circle to Search, Note Assist and generative image editing. The exception is the Instant Slo Mo camera feature, which is likely down to a lack of processing power in older handsets.
